As a matter of fact, we're holding two contests!


CONTEST ONE
As beautiful as our user icon looks, the truth is.. it took around 5 minutes to put it together. YOUR mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create a stunning avatar which represents #desktops! There are only a few rules, and they are as follows:

Icon must be 100px x 50px
Icon must be 15kb or under
Icon does NOT have to be animated (though it'd be cool)
BE CREATIVE!
Deadline is 2 months from the posting of this journal entry. (February 17th, 2010)


CONTEST TWO
Although we can go around borrowing journal styles from our great CSS gurus, we'd much prefer to have one that fully represents and glorifies #desktops. So, for our second contest, we are going to ask you to come up with a functional journal design for our page. Be as creative as possible while adhering to these rules:

Journal style shouldn't be TOO heavy on graphics
NO EYE SORES! We want deviants to feel warm and fuzzy coming to #desktops
Journal style will become the property of #desktops should your entry be declared the winner
Please do not use any copyrighted material unless you own it or have permission to use it
GO NUTS but not ballistic
Deadline is 2 months from the posting of this journal entry. (February 17th, 2010)
