So I went to the new Yankee Stadium today with
 and saw this little guy hopping around. I quickly snapped this one before he flew away. I believe it's a tree sparrow. Thought it was a chickadee. Anyone else have any ideas? -  Comments

Critiques
I guess what is letting you down here is the harsh midday sun. Tee strong overhead light creates a strong shadow cast over the birds eyes which makes it appear lifeless and dull. Furthermore the lack of shadow detail has caused the beak ro blend in a little with the neck plumage.
One suggestion here would be to use a fill flash to lift the shadows a little and attempt to create a small catchlight in the eye which would give the bird a little more life
I am no bird photographer just speaking from a general animal photographer's POV
